THE THERAPIST - RACHEL

At Blossoming Minds Developmental Therapy, the Director Rachel provides evidence and strength-based approaches following a neurodiversity-affirming framework. Rachel is a registered Child Play Therapist and Developmental Educator, holding a master's degree in both Autism Studies and Child Play Therapy. 


Rachel is passionate about working holistically with families and across the child's natural environments such as home, kindergarten, childcare, school and within the local community. As a mother of two neurodivergent children, Rachel has many years of experience supporting and advocating for inclusion both personally and professionally. 


In October 2026, Blossoming Minds Developmental Therapy will celebrate 4 years supporting families across the Geelong, Bellarine and Golden Plains regions.

Who do we support?

At BMDT we primarily support neurodivergent children aged between 1-12 years and their families, and additionally children who may be experiencing challenges with the following; 


  • Developmental and play delays.
  • Children who are non or minimally verbal.
  • Non-speaking, deaf, hearing impaired or situational mutism. 
  • Anxiety.
  • Medical trauma. 
  • Emotional regulation difficulties.
  • Social challenges with peers, such as awareness and understanding. 
  • Low self-esteem and lacking confidence. 
  • Neurodivergent children, we currently work with many autistic, ADHD, PDA, and gifted children and their families. Incorporating declarative language and PDA affirming strategies. 
  • Advocacy within early childhood settings and primary school.
  • Parent psychosocial-education support. 
  • Developing understanding of self, building self-advocacy and self-determination skills.
